Program Model Success

The education model that Pathways uses has been in operation in California since 1987. First operated as a contracted service in the Los Angeles Unified School District, it has evolved into 11 charter schools operating at 72 sites. Under the brands Opportunities For Learning (OFL) and Options For Youth (OFY), these schools serve over 40,000 students annually across California. Read more about our Education Model >

The model has experienced exciting growth in their Academic Performance Index (API) scores in the midst of their growth and expansion. API reports are calculated based on the performance of individual students on the STAR Program and California High School Exit Examination (CAHSEE). The API summarizes these results using a scale of 200 to 1,000 and serves as a baseline score, or starting point, of performance.

When compared with Similar Schools in the State of California, the schools have consistently placed in the top 20% of programs who serve related student populations with parallel socio-economic levels.
